Rublyov Museum of Early Russian Culture and Art
This museum is located on the land of Andronikov the Savior Monastery, on the left bank of Yauza River. There, one can admire the oldest architectural monument in Moscow: the Savior Cathedral (early 15th century).
The museum is dedicated to Andrei Rublyov, the monastery’s most famous monk and Russian icon painter in the 15th century. The museum now contains no less than five thousand icons including a certain number from the master himself. Many other religious items complete the museum’s collection.
